VISUAL ARTS

In Visual Arts this term, Foundation students explored the playful world of Yayoi Kusama, creating bright pumpkin artworks covered in dots using oil pastels and paint.

The 1/2s discovered Amate Mexican folk art and designed beautiful birds and flowers on brown paper inspired by this vibrant tradition.

Our 3/4s have been learning about embossing, crafting raised designs using string and foil to create striking metallic artworks.

Meanwhile, the 5/6s have just finished their detailed paper portraits, showcasing impressive creativity and attention to detail across the senior grades.

Students should be so proud of the amazing artwork they have created this term and the effort they have put into every piece.

PERFORMING ARTS

In Performing Arts, we have been preparing for our upcoming production through dance and drama activities.

Foundation and Years 1 and 2 have been learning about different musicians each week and incorporating some dance and movement whilst learning about styles of music.

In Years 3 and 4, we have been travelling the world and looking and listening to different music and dances from around the globe.

In Years 5 and 6, we have been using drama activities to work on projecting our voice, using our body language to face an audience and characterisation.

Every year group have also been working on their own parts for the production and learning the school production song. I would like to give out a special thanks to all the students who have shown up for our choir rehearsals, and I think we are going to smash our performance during the production!
