QUT Medicine Program Update - Now Starting in 2028

QUT is continuing the rigorous accreditation process with the Australian Medical Council (AMC) as they work towards offering a fully accredited medical program. While they had originally aimed to welcome their first medical students in 2027, the revised target start date is now 2028 (subject to final accreditation).

They’ve shared this update early so students can make informed decisions about their study and career pathways.

🔍 What can you do in the meantime?

If you’re interested in studying Medicine at QUT, there are still great options to explore:

  • Check out QUT’s patient care courses, which are excellent preparation for a future in health and may offer upgrading pathways into Medicine and other competitive degrees.
  • Explore pathway and upgrading options, if you’re planning to apply later.
  • Use QUT’s SET Plan resources to help guide subject selection and planning for Years 11 and 12.

QUT is committed to launching a high-quality medical program backed by clinical partnerships and purpose-built facilities — and they look forward to welcoming their first cohort of future doctors in 2028.
