Year 3/4

As we reach the end of Term 3, our Grade 3/4s have been wrapping up a busy and rewarding term of learning. We’ve finished our class novel Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White, alongside our work on narrative writing. In Mathematics, students have been exploring like decimals and building their skills in measurement. Our Inquiry studies are coming to a close with the completion of our Design and Technology unit, where we’ve looked at both “paddock to plate” and “fibre to fashion.” In Religious Education, students have finished our topic on Living God’s values.
On Friday 5th September, our Grade 3–6 students took part in the District Cricket, Tennis and Basketball Sports Day at Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve and the Castlemaine Lawn Tennis Club. It was a incredible day of participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship, and we are proud of the way our students represented our school. They were incredible role-models for the community.
A special thank you goes to our incredible RE Leader, Julie Zaar, who organised Feast Day activities following our school Mass. Students were able to go outside into different parts of the school and create beautiful displays to honour Mary. It was a wonderful way to celebrate together as a community.
It’s been a big term, and while everyone is feeling ready for the holidays, we’re proud of the learning and growth achieved. We’re also looking ahead to our Arts Evening in Week 3 of Term 4.
I wish all families a safe and happy holiday, and I look forward to another great term of learning together.
Mr. Giles, Grade 3/4 Teacher.
