2D

By Luci Li

This term, students in 2D have been exploring the world of shapes in their Maths lessons. They focused on both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes, learning to identify their names, sides, faces, and vertices.

A highlight of the unit was a hands-on activity where students used dried spaghetti and marshmallows to build their own 2D and 3D shapes. This fun and creative challenge encouraged teamwork and helped students better understand the properties of different shapes.

Students were proud of their creations and enjoyed sharing their models with the class. This practical experience made learning about shapes more engaging and helped deepen their understanding of geometry. The activity has laid a solid foundation for further exploration of measurement and spatial concepts in future lessons.
