Principal's News

Good morning Families,
We’re all very excited about our musical production. On Wednesday the whole school will attend the final rehearsal at Clocktower Centre, Moonee Ponds. Please refer to your Operoo notification for full details. Students should wear sports uniform as they will be walking from Moonee Ponds Station to the theatre.
Please note the drop off times for students for the evening performance. Our goal is to ensure our students arrive to a calm and ordered environment and be given appropriate supervision. To achieve this our staff will be working from 5:00pm, checking students in and then supervising them. It is therefore vitally important that students only arrive at their designated time. I acknowledge that this causes families with more than one child some inconvenience but safety trumps all other considerations.
Students should come dressed in their costumes ready to perform and bring only water and a snack in a disposable bag. Students may bring headphones/ear muffs should they prefer.
Drop off times | |
---|---|
5:00pm | Main cast only |
5:10pm | Remaining 5/6 |
5:20pm | Year 3/4 |
5:30pm | Year 1/2 |
5:45pm | Prep |
Staff will be present to greet students and record attendance. Once attendance has been marked children will be accompanied to the Pascoe Room where other staff will be supervising.
The theatre opens at 6:40pm. Unfortunately, we will not have the space for audience members to arrive before this time.
In line with Clocktower Centre expectations, each child must have a parent in the audience. Tickets are still available.
Confirmation
Congratulations to our students who celebrated their Confirmation last Sunday. This was a lovely celebration of our student’s commitment to the baptismal promises their families made on their behalf. This afternoon we will present these students with their certificates after second lunch.
Parking Around the School
Families are reminded that parking in the streets around our school is not the responsibility of the school. Local laws apply, and fines can be issued to those who do not follow the parking signs and restrictions. Details about parking rules and fines can be found here.
Where possible, we encourage families to walk to school or to drive to streets surrounding HR and then walk. Walking not only eases congestion in our built-up area but also provides a healthy and positive start to the day.
Please remember that children observe and learn from the way adults behave. By parking and driving safely and respectfully, we show them how to be responsible members of our community. Parking inspectors will continue to patrol the area, and it is important that we all do the right thing. Ourparent/guardian code of conduct highlights expected behaviours.
Please be reminded that the speed limit is 40kmh in Gower St and that u turns are unsafe.
Thank you for supporting the safety of all in our school community.
Father’s Day
We are excited to welcome all fathers and special men in our children’s lives to our Father’s Day Breakfast this Friday, from 7:45am. This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and honour the incredible dads in our community. If you have not yet replied to our invitation, please do this today.
We look forward to sharing a coffee and donut with you all on the yard before moving into the hall for a short prayer celebration. Your presence will make the morning truly special, and we can't wait to see you there!
Annual Parent Survey – We Need Your Feedback
Each year we invite families to complete our annual MACSSIS survey. In the past, our response rate has been incredibly low, but this survey is an important way for us to hear your voice.
Your feedback helps us understand what we are doing well and what we need to improve on. It only takes a few minutes, but it makes a real difference in shaping the direction of our school.
We strongly encourage all families to take the time to share their thoughts – your input matters. Surveys will be delivered to your email tomorrow afternoon and must be completed by 19th September.
See you on Wednesday night!
Christine
