Dear Year 10–12 Students,
As we reach the end of the term, we want to congratulate you on the effort, focus, and resilience you have shown in your learning. Whether it has been through your classroom work, assessments, or broader contributions to school life, your commitment to growth and achievement has been clear.
Take this upcoming break as a chance to rest, recharge, and reflect on your goals. We look forward to seeing you return next term ready to continue your preparation for this next stage of learning.
For our year 12 and fast track students, please see below for information regarding our practice exam week which commences this coming Monday 22 September.
Well done on a great term!
Information for Year 12 and Fast Track Students
Your Practice Exams (September 22 – 25) are an important opportunity to test yourselves under exam conditions and to track your progress as you prepare for the VCAA examinations.
These exams are not just a rehearsal – they are a marker of how much knowledge and skill you can demonstrate at this point in time. The feedback you receive will be vital in shaping your study strategies and helping you target areas for improvement in the weeks ahead.
Importantly, the conditions will simulate the final VCAA exams very closely. This will give you an additional level of familiarity with exam procedures and expectations, helping to reduce stress levels when you enter your final exams in Term 4.
In addition, teachers will use your performance in these exams as an additional data point when calculating your indicative scores. This means the effort and preparation you put in now will not only support your learning, but also contribute to the evidence your teachers use to reflect your potential achievement.
We encourage you to:
Prepare as you would for the final VCAA exams.
Take feedback seriously and use it to adjust your revision plans.
View these exams as an opportunity to build confidence and refine your exam approach.
Remember, this is a chance to measure your current level, not your final outcome. What matters most is how you use the experience to continue building towards your best possible results.
Please note: You may wear casual clothes to sit these practice exams, however full school uniform is required to be worn during your final exams.
The scheduled practice exams have been published onto your Compass schedule for next week.
Best of luck — you’ve got this.
