This Week At OOPS

The chickens went on an incursion this week to grassy fields while our Year 3s did their maths. Our Year 5 friends helped set up the pen and the chickens looked very happy with some lush green grass to peck at.
Our recently updated library just got even better! This week we welcomed brand-new furniture, adding even more comfort and functionality to the space. Students are enjoying the cosy seating and fresh layout – making the library an even more inviting place to read, learn, and collaborate.
This term, Year 3 students have been working on making their information passages more engaging. The following is an example based on Clare Saxby’s book Big Red. The information pieces from this text were enhanced using figurative language to bring details to life. The work also included a clear, well-designed illustration to support the ideas. These pieces demonstrate strong literary growth in noticing how authors use language to hold a reader’s attention which will help build lifelong writing skills for each child.
Some of our Year 5 and 6 students attended the Maths Games Day hosted by Box Hill High School yesterday. From tricky puzzles to team challenges they worked together, thought outside the box and proved that maths is way more than just numbers on a page!
We have a few items borrowed to us for our Production which we have yet to return. If any of the items pictured below belong to you please feel free to collect them from Rhiannon in Drayton Hall.
