Mr Irwin's Message

Hello families and welcome to this week’s newsletter.
Firstly, a Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads and special blokes in the Teesdale community who support our students. We hope you were treated like kings on Sunday and enjoyed the gifts students prepared for you at school. Thanks for all the support and care you provide to our students. If you haven’t yet seen it, we posted a video message to all our special blokes on Facebook for Father’s Day, so make sure you check it out!
Arrangements for Wednesday
We know many members of our community will be absent from school on Wednesday to attend Milla’s funeral service and give their support to Erin, Marty and Harvey. Milla’s family have shared with us a gumleaf template they wish to use to collect memories as a keepsake. This can be downloaded from the provided attachment for children wishing to complete this to do so at home. For families attending Wednesday’s service these can be brought along with them and for those unable to attend they can be dropped at school on Wednesday morning. Feel free to print these off at home or collect a copy from the office.
Please be aware school will look a little different on Wednesday. There will be a number of staff absent on the day and we have arranged for some of our regular relief teachers to be available to support classes.
We also strongly recommend that students who will be attending Wednesday’s service have the entire day off school. This will support their wellbeing and also ensure a settled day at school.
Wellbeing support will be available to school tomorrow and Thursday to support any students who require it. If you feel your child would benefit from this, please get in touch with the school via email teesdale.ps@education.vic.gov.au so this can be arranged.
It’s been wonderful to see our Teesdale community rally around each other in the past few weeks. I know this will continue in the coming days.
Parent/Caregiver Opinion Survey
Finally for this week’s newsletter a reminder of our Parent/Caregiver opinion survey. This is an important piece of feedback that we really value as a school. It provides great information to us as a school and helps us reflect on how we’re going and how we can seek to improve. The survey is anonymous and usually takes around 15-20 minutes to complete.
By now you will have received an email to complete this survey and we’d love to have as many families as possible dedicate some time to complete it. The more families we have complete the survey the better!
Take care this week and bye for now.
