Sports News from Mr Flower

We would like to wish Charlie, Hank and Lawson the very best of luck as they compete in the Polding Athletics Carnival in Glendale this Friday. The boys have been practising hard and refining their skills over the past few weeks, and we know they will represent our school with pride. Safe travels and good luck, boys!

We are also excited to announce that our new shade shelters and sports banners have arrived at school! A big thank you to our Year 6 helpers who assisted in putting them together. Keep an eye out for them at our next sporting event! They are a fantastic addition for our students and school!

This Friday, our Stage 2 and 3 students will enjoy their catch-up Touch Football session during the middle session down on the school oval. Students have been working on their skills in recent weeks, and it will be wonderful to see them put these into action in some exciting games.

Looking ahead, in Week 10 (Thursday) we will be travelling by bus to Inverell for the Northern Cluster Diocesan Soccer Gala Day as per below.  Soccer boots and personal shin pads may be worn, otherwise students are welcome to borrow a pair from school. If you intend on being picked up at Sandy Flat, please let the front office know.

Northern Cluster Soccer Gala Day Thursday 25th September

We have had 40 Stage 2 and Stage 3 students respond to attend the Soccer Gala Day in Inverell.

The bus will depart from our school bus stop area at 6.45am. Please be there by 6.30am to get your child's name marked off. The bus will depart Inverell at approx. 2.00pm, and arrive at approx. 3.50pm at St Joseph's school. A message will be sent to families as the bus gets closer to Tenterfield so a more exact arrival time can be given.

Students are reminded to wear their school sports uniform including their school hat. Although a canteen will be running, time is limited between games so please ensure your child has water and plenty of food packed for the day. It can be cold in Inverell so ensure your child is ready for all seasons; Jumpers and Sunscreen!
