Over the last week, just under 100 of RGLPS's Sustainability students and parents were able to experience a Twilight Tour at Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary. The tour consisted of a guided one hour walk around the large sanctuary grounds where we were able to see many native nocturnal animals in their natural environment. Students described the experience as interesting, satisfying, amazing, fun and cool. Some of the interesting things that students learned were

There were trees in the sanctuary over 500 years old
Ringtail possums eat their own poop
Caterpillars can be see-through
Drop bears aren’t real

This experience was funded by our Biodiversity Landcare Australia Grant received in 2024.

We are so lucky at Golf Links to have tadpoles in our frog pond for everyone to enjoy. To keep our tadpoles safe, we ask that the following rules are adhered to when you are in our school grounds.

Rule 1 - Tadpoles must stay in the frog pond at all times. Please do not take the tadpoles out of the pond. Did you know that it is prohibited to remove tadpoles and frogs from their natural environment?

Rule 2 - You can stand around the edge of the pond to look at the tadpoles, but do not stand on the metal grate on top of the pond. The grate is there to protect the tadpoles.

Rule 3 - Leave all of the rocks at the frog pond. Do not move them to other places in the school.

Rule 4 - Do not put anything in the frog pond. This includes hands, sticks, rocks, food, paper, etc.
