Mary Rice Day

A big thank you to all staff and students across the College for the participation and engagement with the whole day. It was amazing to see our students and staff engage whole-heartedly in all aspects of the day and continue to grow the spirit and connect with Mary Rice and the Centre.

The journey started with our Year 12 students and Year 6 Leaders engaging in the Mary Rice Fundraiser Walk from the Junior to the Senior Campus. The purpose of the walk is to symbolise the physical journey to be able to find and engage with education. Our students arrived at the Senior College, symbolically handing over the Mary Rice Legacy Baton.

This was followed by the annual Mary Rice Mass. Thank you to all staff and students for your singing, engagement and overall feel of the event. We finished the day with our Mary Rice Soccer Match and Walkathon for the Junior and Senior College.

These events are crucial in connecting our students to the rich history of St Virgil’s College and its connections around the world.

Old Virgilian Association – Panel Interviews (Year 9 Religious Education)

On Tuesday 9 September, our Year 9 students will join nine members of our Old Virgilians Association to engage in a panel and understand what it means to be a man of St Virgil's.

Our Year 9 students have been provided with nine biographies to analyse and develop questions for our OVA panel members. These questions will be asked by our students during the interview period on Tuesday 9 September.

Our College's connection to those who have come before is crucial in our young man understanding the importance and history of St Virgil’s College through the stories and achievements of its very own.

We thank those members who have volunteered their time and continue to support our young men at the College.
