Creating a love of learning with Mrs McBride & Miss Jenni
Wishing all the special people in our students' lives a very happy Father's Day.
We hope you enjoyed the little gifts the Foundation students made & bought.
Thank you to the volunteers who made the Father's Day stall a success.
We have been focusing on the letters (Graphemes) x, j, r, v, b, w, y, h, e and the digraphs (two letters one sound) th, ck, & qu. Students are loving practising their capital and lower case letters. We are also working on the names of the letters and the sounds (phonemes) they represent. Our dictation sentences have been: 'Go whack the bug Seth.' and...'When I'm sick I have a jab.'
Have you asked your child how high they can count? Do it and see where they get to! This has been a focus area we are working on. As a whole class, we can count to 100, some of us still get a little bit lost though, so practise makes perfect! We have been exploring how the teen numbers are represented and discussing place value on tens and ones in a number.
Bridge and beyond: Creativity.
We are learning to identify and explore the properties of different materials. This meant that we got to make playdough! Then we used it to complete some challenges like the longest rope, smoothest ball, and making the letter of our first name... or in Ivy's case... her full name! :)
Our last session was SO MUCH FUN! All students have been given a voucher for the BALC, and we encourage you to use it with your family. Water safety and confidence around water is a lifelong skill.
