From the Year 2 Classroom

Week 7 Already!
We’ve had such a fun and busy couple of weeks — no wonder we’re all looking forward to the holidays for a well-earned rest!
Book Week FunLast Friday’s Book Week celebrations were a big hit! The parade was a joyful event, and we were so impressed by the creativity and effort that went into all the costumes. The students had a blast dancing and showing off their outfits. After recess, we enjoyed a story and a fun activity with some of the Year 4 and Year 5 students — a lovely way to connect across year levels.
Excursion to WangarattaOur trip to Wangaratta yesterday was fantastic! The performance of The Gruffalo’s Child was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We finished the day with lunch and playtime at Apex Park — a perfect way to round off a great excursion.
Learning HighlightsIt’s not all dress-ups and excursions — we’ve been working hard too!
- Literacy: We’ve been learning about contractions and syllables and writing persuasive letters to keep the Big Bad Wolf behind bars! We’ve also been comparing different versions of The Three Little Pigs and exploring features of both informative and imaginative texts.
- Inquiry: We’re continuing our journey through My Place, learning about life in the past — specifically for Minna in 1868 and Henry in 1858.
- Religion: We’re discussing how we can care for Creation and all the wonderful things God has made. We’ll also be attending Mass this Friday at 9:30am.
Thank you for your continued support — we love sharing these special moments and learning adventures with your children!
