Joke of the Week
Two boys are on opposite sides of the river.
One shouts “Hey! Can you tell me how to cross the river? I want to get to the other side!”
The other says “Why? You are on the other side!”
Laughing and Learning with Skits!
Recently in Performing Arts, students in Years 3/4 and 5/6 have been exploring the fun and creative world of skits—short, scripted scenes that often use humour to tell a story or joke. Skits are a fantastic way for students to develop their performance skills while working collaboratively and creatively.
Throughout the unit, students have been learning how to rehearse and perform their own funny skits. They’ve been learning about how timing, facial expressions, body language, and voice can be used to bring characters to life and make an audience laugh.
Rehearsals have been a key part of the process, helping the students to refine their delivery and support one another as they prepare for their performance. The classroom has been filled with laughter and positive energy as students experiment with storytelling and stagecraft in a supportive environment.
It’s been a joyful journey of learning, laughter, and self-expression!
