Level Four

What a great end to Term 3 in Grade 4.
Mathematics- in recent weeks, we have been learning about division and how to create and interpret grid reference systems. Students have used grid references and directions to locate and describe positions, as well as pathways.
Reading- In Reading, we have been focusing on summarising. Students now understand what summarising is and can apply it to both fiction and non-fiction texts.
- When summarising fiction, students identify the main characters, setting, problem, and resolution. They are also able to explain the moral or author’s message of the story.
When summarising non-fiction, students identify the main idea by using keywords and key information, and they can explain the author’s purpose.
Writing- In Writing, we have been analysing the features of a persuasive text. Students have planned, drafted, and edited their own pieces using a range of persuasive techniques, exploring a variety of devices to strengthen their arguments.
