Student Learning

During Book Week, N6 and N12 have been exploring different book-making methods. We also welcomed the new Receptions who joined us in Term 3, pairing each of them with a buddy to support them during our book-making sessions.
First, we worked with our buddies to decide on a title for our book. Next, we wrote the orientation, where we introduced the characters and described the setting. Many children chose to include themselves as characters in their stories, which made the writing extra fun! Together, the children created some exciting adventures. After that, it was time to add a complication — an event that creates a problem for the characters.
After creating our complications, we moved on to the resolution. This was the part where we solved the problem and brought our stories to a satisfying ending. N6 students supported N12 by sharing ideas, strategies, and their understanding of how to shape a narrative. Working together as a team, everyone played a part in making sure our stories were creative, complete, and full of imagination.
We enjoyed working together and sharing ideas to create our own special stories.
N6 and N12 will come together again soon to put the finishing touches on our fabulous narratives. Once our stories are complete, we’ll celebrate by sharing them with each other — a chance to enjoy the creativity, imagination and teamwork.
We also enjoyed getting creative with our ‘Bookmark Making’ during Book Week.
Great Job Team! Happy Book Week Everyone! 😊
