Netball – School Sports Bendigo Region
Last week, some of our Year 4-6 girls represented St. Peter’s in the School Sports Bendigo Region Netball competition. The girls did a fantastic job, showing great improvement from last year. They came away with a couple of wins, a draw, and a couple of losses, demonstrating resilience and teamwork throughout the games.
A special thanks to Mrs. Doolan for coaching the team and for all the students who proudly represented our school. Well done to everyone involved!
Choir Competitions – A Strong Performance
Our St. Peter’s Choir recently participated in the choir competition at Ulumbarra, and we are thrilled to announce their incredible success! The choir, led by Mrs Heinrich performed at Ulumbarra on Thursday, August 7th, where they showcased their talent and dedication.
The performance was a huge hit, and our students were honoured to receive the "Most Spirited Perpetual Shield" – an annual award recently created, with our choir being the first recipients! This is a remarkable achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and commitment.
A huge congratulations to all the students involved in this special event. Thank you to everyone who supported the choir, and to those who were able to attend and cheer them on. The award is a testament to the spirit and energy our choir brings to every performance!
Gymnastics Program Continues
Our Year 5/6 students have just completed their final gymnastics session, while our Prep to Year 4 students have 2 more weeks to enjoy the program. It’s been fantastic to see the engagement and enthusiasm from all students.
Pupil Free Day – Wednesday 13th August
A reminder that Wednesday, 13th August will be a Pupil Free Day for all schools in the Sandhurst Diocese. This day will be dedicated to a Spirituality Day, giving staff the opportunity for reflection and reconnection. Please note that there will be no school for students on this day, and no staff will be on site.
Learning Conversations – Thursday 14th August
As a reminder, Learning Conversations for Term 3 will take place this Thursday, 14th August, from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a valuable opportunity for parents and teachers to meet, discuss your child’s progress, celebrate their successes, and identify areas for further development.
In addition to the conversations, we will have a BBQ on-site, and the Book Fair will be open for families to visit between 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm. NAPLAN results for Year 3 & 5 families will also be handed out during the meetings.
If you have not yet booked a time, please ensure you do so with your child’s teacher(s). School will finish at 2:15 pm on this day to allow for the Learning Conversations to begin promptly at 2:30 pm. If you are unable to pick up your child at this time, we will have supervision available for students in the Knuldoorong.
Book Fair
This week, we are hosting our Book Fair for students, running from 11th to 15th August. Families are invited to visit on Thursday, 14th August, between 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm. This coincides with Learning Conversations, so be sure to pop by the Knuldoorong to check out the available books.
Next week, we will celebrate Book Week, with the highlight being Wednesday, 20th August, when students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. The theme for 2025 is ‘Book an Adventure’, and we will also have a special presentation for the students by The Blurbs.
A Moment in Prayer
Loving God, As we begin this new week, we thank You for the opportunity to grow in faith and knowledge. Help us to approach each day with kindness, patience, and understanding. May we continue to support one another, embracing each person’s uniqueness, and learning together as a community. We ask for Your guidance in all that we do. Amen.
God Bless,
