This week in J08, students have spent some time exploring how people in the ‘olden days’ created butter. They spent time experimenting with two different methods: shaking a jar with a marble in it or whisking by hand. Ultimately, shaking the cream with a marble in a jar got the job done quicker, allowing the class to celebrate their success of making butter with some biscuit treats.
Students have been enjoyed learning about split vowel digraphs a-e, playing a matching game and sounding out the words. These games support students in developing fluency in reading in a fun and engaging way.
We look forward to enjoying lots of fun activities in the coming weeks.
