STRONG MINDS,

GENTLE HEARTS

News from Frazer Rigby

Deputy Principal

At Saints, our vision is to form young men who are good Christians and good citizens. As St Marcellin Champagnat reminded us: “To educate children properly, we must love them, and love them all equally.” This love is expressed daily through openness, gratitude, acceptance and a readiness to listen – qualities we encourage all students to embrace.

As we move towards the end of term, with assessments and exams approaching, it is vital that students from Years 7–12 maintain focus and renew their efforts. Parents and carers play a key role through encouragement and positive reinforcement, while teachers provide meaningful and engaging learning opportunities. Together, this partnership ensures the best outcomes for our boys.

Recent college events, including yesterday's Walkathon, highlighted the positive spirit and respectful conduct of our students. As per our enrolment policy, attendance at such events is compulsory, and it was pleasing to see our students embrace the 12km challenge with enthusiasm and respect, showcasing our strong community spirit.

Finally, as we prepare to celebrate Father’s Day, we acknowledge the profound influence fathers and father figures have on the character of our boys. Their actions, more than their words, provide the example that shapes young men. We thank and honour all fathers and carers in our community for the role they play in guiding their sons. “You don’t raise heroes, you raise sons. And if you treat them like sons, they’ll turn out to be heroes, even if it’s just in your own eyes.” (Pioneering astronaut Walter M Schirra Sr)
