French News

                                                      Bonjour Parents and Students!

Over the past two weeks, our students have been doing some wonderful work in French!

Prep & Grade 1

Preps have been learning to say “Je suis” (I am) with simple emotion words, and Grade 1 students expanded this with a wider range of feelings. We were very impressed with how confidently they shared their answers during their verbal assessments – they are already showing great progress!

Grade 2

Grade 2 students worked hard to write a short French paragraph all about themselves, complete with a drawing. Their published work looked fantastic, and they were very proud to share their creations with the class.

Grade 3

Grade 3 explored how to form French adverbs using the -ment suffix. They enjoyed making their own sentences with adverbs and verbs, showing lots of creativity. We also revisited greetings and wishes, and students remembered them very well!

Grade 4

Grade 4 students also learned adverbs but combined them with their new RE verbs. They did a wonderful job building sentences and were excited to see how their vocabulary is growing.

Grades 5 & 6

In Grades 5 and 6, students focused on food quantities in French and put their learning into practice by researching on recipes. We loved seeing how they applied their knowledge of quantities when translating a recipe from English to French. They also completed a written assessment, and it was great to see how much they have progressed.
