John XXIII Rowing Club

Dear Rowing Families
Congratulations to all rowers and coxswains who competed in the All Schools State Championships on the weekend. The seeded races provided some excellent racing conditions for the crews and were great for the spectators to see the JTC spirit on the water in some really close races. The results for each crew are listed below.
Our House Regatta is scheduled for Saturday, 6 September at our Canning Bridge boatshed. Racing commences around 8:30am until approximately 11:30am, with parents then invited to jump into a boat, and your children can give you a quick lesson on how to row.
The Year 7 Learn to Row program continued this week in some windy and wet conditions, but the students seem to be enjoying the experience, which is fantastic to see.
The Presentation Dinner will take place on Saturday, 6 September at the College. Details are below. Please register here.

All Schools State Championships
We had a huge number of entries for the Championship regatta, with almost every boat loaded onto the trailers for the regatta. Calm conditions greeted the rowers and allowed them to finish the season with some fast times and close races. All athletes should be proud of their achievements over the season, and we hope they have had a fantastic year as part of the John XXIII Rowing Club.

Presentation Dinner – Saturday, 6 September, 6:30pm
The Presentation Dinner will be held on Saturday, 6 September, commencing at 6:30pm in the Thomas More Exhibition Centre at John XXIII College. Tickets can be purchased here.
This event provides us with a wonderful opportunity to recognise our rowers, their season and our fabulous committee. This event is for Years 9 to 12 rowers and their parents.
Year 7 Learn to Row
As the Year 7 Social is on Monday, 8 September this session will not be held. Rowers will receive an email from Ms Woolfitt regarding this and the option to go to one of the other sessions.
A bus leaves school at 3:30pm and leaves the boatshed to return to school at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm pick up at school. Parents, please ensure you are at school at 6:00pm. If students are being picked up from Canning Bridge, please notify Claire.
Please contact me if you have any queries.
Uniforms
The new zootsuit is now in stock at the Uniform Shop. There is also a training top which can be worn under the zootsuit. The only compulsory item is the zootsuit for racing at regattas. There is stock of the old Zootsuit which can be worn. Year 8 students can wear their PE uniform to the race and are not required to purchase a zootsuit.
Stack Team App
Please download the Stack Team App if you have not already done so. This app is one of our main avenues for communication with rowers and their parents. This is the central place for training schedules, training updates, and rowers can contact their coach in case of illness or injury and missed trainings. It is important that all rowers and parents have access.
To get this app please go to the App Store or Google Play and download Stack Team App onto your mobile device, then follow these simple steps:
- Sign-up to Stack Team App. You’ll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
- Log-in and search for JTCRC, then request to become a member.
