Captain's Corner

Hello, welcome to Week 5!
Hello everyone,
Here we are in week 5!
This week has been so amazing especially with the incredible performance of Beauty and the Beast Jr.
We are all so proud of our amazing students. Their amazing contributions to the performance is so incredibly awesome. It has been so rewarding to see a year of hard work and effort pay off. And the best thing we had fun! We are so grateful for our staff helping us through this whole thing. They have helped us lift the whole thing up to the next level especially Mrs D,aco we are truly grateful! We have written some reflections about our experiences.
And to round off a big week we have our Dendy Athletics today - good luck to our Joeys team and have the best time!
Next week is the last week for handing in the food for the Malvern Emergency Food Program drive. Thank you for your generous support for a fantastic local program. We will also be having our Pyjama Day on Friday - wear your pyjamas or something comfy!
Enjoy your week!

Production Reflections: On the opening night of the production I felt nervous but excited at the same time. Everything went really well. As an art captain I had to do a speech. I'm not really a fan of public speaking but it ended up being fine. I really enjoyed the role of Babette since this will also be my last production at St Joseph's.

On the day of the production as I was waiting to go on stage, a wave of adrenaline rushed over me. I was so nervous and it didn’t feel real. And whatever I did felt amplified. The smell of my makeup, the lights on stage and the goggles on my forehead. But when I went on, all of my nervous thoughts went away and I felt more relaxed. It was weird because earlier I was super nervous and dreaded going on stage, but now I want to go on stage. It's crazy how we spent almost half a year practicing for this and now it's finally happening. I’m so glad everything went well and it was super fun practicing and rehearsing with my friends. It was very cool to see us improve and how it all came together over time. The production was super fun and I learned a lot and made a lot of new friends.

Last night’s production was wonderful and went really well except for a slight malfunction on the screen but other than that everything went great. I was definitely really nervous and stressed to wait to go on the stage for my scenes . Hopefully tonight for our last production night it will be less stressful. Now that I have done it, I feel so much more confident - although it will be a relief after this! It's my last production at the school and let me just say it was one of the best! I will be a bit sad but it was lovely having Mrs Moore's family coming along making a speech as Mrs Moore always loved production and it was nice to see her legacy carried on!

Hi, I'm Lucy, and I will be talking about my production reflection (Beauty and the Beast).First of all, I will be talking about opening night. At opening night I felt excited, happy and nervous. My first opening scene was a very funny scene but at the same time I felt very shaky cause of how many people were in the audience. My favourite things about opening night were performing ,acting, singing and so much more. It was my first concert where I had a bunch of solo parts and acting parts. I’m very proud of others who gave it a go! Especially people who have never done things like this. I’m also so very grateful with my performing arts teacher Miss D’Arco, she has been amazing and that's why the production turned out great. Thats it from me and I can't wait for the closing night.

Adrenaline rushed through my veins as I was standing on the side of the stage, waiting for my cue for me to hop onto the stage to begin the play. I was so excited and nervous before I first got onto the stage as I said some of the first words of the script. There was a lot of pressure on my shoulders, but when I got on the stage, performing came as second nature to me. Hello, I am Maximillian and I played the part of the narrator in Beauty and the Beast. I really enjoyed the production as it was a fun night to express your creativity and love for the arts. It was an ecstatic night and everyone was buzzing with excitement. This was a great last production for me as it was an amazing night filled with joy and happiness.
