Foundation Fire Fighter Visit

Over the past few weeks, the Foundation children have been enthusiastically participating in the ‘Fire Ed’ program, supporting our Inquiry topic ‘Our Local Community’. The Fire Ed for Foundation program helps our youngest students learn important fire safety skills in a fun and engaging way. They discover how firefighters are community helpers, the difference between safe and unsafe fires, and what to do when they hear a smoke alarm. Students also learn how to safely exit a smoky room, the importance of a safe meeting place, and when and how to call Triple Zero in an emergency.

A highlight for many were the exciting visits from the Carlton Fire Station! The children were so thrilled to see the fire truck up close, explore its many buttons and tools, and even got to have a turn holding the fire hose! A big thank you to Fireman Jack and his crew for this memorable experience!
