Year 7 & 8

NAPLAN tips

For our Year 7s, an important milestone is approaching in Week 8 - NAPLAN testing. To ensure a smooth experience, students must have the latest NAPLAN Lockdown Browser installed on their devices and should complete a device check beforehand to avoid any technical issues. I also encourage students to take advantage of the practice tests linked in the document provided to students. This will help familiarise students with the format and reduce any test-day nerves.

Some Year 7 are students participating in the World’s Greatest Shave. Their enthusiasm and generosity in supporting such an important cause is truly commendable.

Year 8s give the loudest cheer

Our Year 8s have been showcasing their school spirit and teamwork, particularly at the recent Interhouse Swimming Carnival. Whether competing in the pool, entering the novelty events, or cheering on their peers, it was incredible to see so many Year 8 students giving their best and enjoying the event. They certainly had the loudest cheers and highest participation from what I saw. Well done!

Remember, stay organised

As we settle into the term, I want to emphasise the importance of students developing strong organisation skills at the beginning of the year. These skills will not only help students stay on top of their schoolwork but will also build good habits for the future. Three key tips students have been told, to support their organisation at school this semester are;

  1. Use the school diary and write in upcoming assessments
  2.  Establish a daily school routine
  3.  Keep school materials and their locker organised

I encourage all students to start small and build these habits over time. With dedication and support, they will see the benefits in both their academic progress and overall well being.

Keep it up Year 7s and 8s.
