St Roch’s School theme 2025:
Dear Families,
Welcome to our Issue 3 of our iNewsletter! We hope this newsletter continues to keep you up to date with all the news, events and learning that happens at St Roch's.
Farewell to the Pugliese Family
We especially want to acknowledge the Pugliese Family (Mateo - Year 2, Maria - Year 4), Luca, Isabel and of course their parents Clara and Santiago whose last day was today at St Roch's. The family are relocating to Argentina, their home country. The family has been a huge part of our school and Parish and we wish them all the very best. We will certainly miss them and hope that we see them again.
Come along on Friday, 28 March 2.40pm for our second assembly where our Year 5 students will showcase their learning.
Open Tours
We encourage our 2026 and 2027 siblings to attend an Open Tour before their transition dates.
Showcasing our school is a wonderful way to share what happens at St Roch's with our Year 6 Leaders. We always love having current parents at our Open Tours as well. Please let us know if you are interested in supporting these tours. For those parents with siblings beginning Prep in 2026, please come along to one of the next tours with your child. We are currently taking enrolments for 2026 and 2027.
Please register via our website or the QR Code. https://www.srgleniris.catholic.edu.au/

Restorative Practices in Schools A Parent & Carer Seminar
Thursday 27 March 6.00pm in St Roch's Hall - Save the Date!!
There are many ways in which parents, carers, guardians, grandparents and schools can work together to improve the educational experience and outcomes for their children.
Parents have a particularly important part to play in our educating community, and we welcome your support in so many ways. We are providing another opportunity for families to attend a seminar that supports the wellbeing of your children. Please take some time to read about Kristy Elliot who will be delivering this upcoming seminar on Thursday 27 March at 6.00pm onsite in our hall.
Thought & Prayers
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Needham family on the passing of Fleur's father (Poppy Year 2) on the weekend in New South Wales. We offer our condolences to Fleur, Damien and Poppy.
May your memories of your father, father-in-law, and grandfather, give you comfort at this time.
St Patrick's Day
Happy St Patrick's Day. It was lovely to see a 'grassland of green' on our yard this morning!! A touch of green celebrated St Patrick today. St Patrick's influeence goes beyond the legend of the shamrock. His work helped shape the foundations of Catholic Education as we know it today.
This Friday, some of our Year 6 students will join other MACS schoools for the Mass of Saint Patrick fo Schools, a highlight of Catholic Education Week that honours and celebrates the patron saint of Melbourne's Catholic Cathedral.
Creative Arts Exhibition
We are thrilled to announce that four artworks from St. Roch’s Primary School were selected for the 2025 MACS Creative Arts Exhibition. With over 400 entries from both primary and secondary schools across the Melbourne Archdiocese, this is an outstanding achievement for our students.
This year’s Art Show certainly showcased the remarkable talent of our students, highlighting their creativity, imagination, and passion for self-expression. Our visual arts program has been essential in nurturing and developing these abilities, offering students the chance to explore various mediums, techniques, and concepts. We are incredibly proud of the positive impact the program has had on their artistic growth and overall development.
We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our exceptionally talented young artists who have artwork featured in the 2025 MACS Creative Arts Exhibition. The Art Exhibition will be held at the Catholic Leadership Centre, from Sunday 16 March to Saturday 22nd March. Congratulations to our Visual Arts Specialist Jo Boers.
Wishing you all another wonderful week.
Warmest regards,
