Year 7 News

Year 7 is off to a fantastic start.
Term 1 has been an exciting and dynamic start for our Year 7 students! From settling into new routines to engaging in hands-on learning experiences, our students have embraced the challenges and opportunities of secondary school life.
Weekly assemblies have been a valuable way to keep everyone connected and informed, while our class challenges have helped students build strong routines. It has been heart warming to see so many Year 7s supporting and looking out for each other. Their learning space is now a vibrant and colourful environment, with students gradually taking ownership of it.
In Art and Design, students have been exploring the world of portraiture and pushing their creativity with free-form ‘Fantasy Fish’ sculptures in Ceramics. Visual Communication Design has encouraged them to think about how design influences their everyday lives and we look forward to showcasing their artistic talents in the library throughout the year.
A highlight of the term so far has been the Year 7s' visit to the Tech School for the ‘STEM in Action’ program. Students experienced the excitement of VR roller coasters, played interactive games and even programmed robots to complete small tasks.
We are excited about this week’s camp, where students are having the chance to develop friendships, challenge themselves and create lasting memories. We can’t wait to see what the rest of Term 1 brings for our fantastic Year 7 cohort!
