From the Principal's Desk

I can’t believe it is week 7 already! It has been a very busy term so far and it doesn’t look like the rest of the term will be any different.

On Wednesday, we held our P&F Annual General Meeting. Congratulations to Susan Cox, who has been elected as President, and Claire McIntyre, who will serve as Secretary. We appreciate their dedication and commitment to our school community and look forward to working with them throughout the year.

A special thank you to the parents who volunteered their time to clean up the veggie patch. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed!

We have had a busy and exciting start to the term, with several key events already taking place:

  • Swimming Carnival – Our recent swimming carnival was a fantastic day filled with great sportsmanship and participation. It was wonderful to see students cheering each other on and striving to do their best. Thank you to all the staff and parents who assisted on the day. A big thank you to Mrs Middleton for her organisation and running of the carnival. I would acknowledge that we had three students compete in the Wagga Diocesan Carnival and one student qualified for the Mackillop/Polding Carnival in Sydney.

  • Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday – These two significant days in our liturgical calendar were observed with great reverence. Shrove Tuesday was a fun day for the students with the cooking and eating of pancakes, most if not all dietary requirements were catered to. Thank you to Father Brancik, the Ash Wednesday mass provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection as we entered the Lenten season.

Sacramental Program

Father Brancik has begun sacramental lessons for our students preparing for First Reconciliation in Year 3 and First Holy Communion in Year 4. This is an important time in their faith journey, and we appreciate the support of our families in helping them prepare for these sacraments.

Upcoming Events

  • Catholic Schools Week – We are looking forward to celebrating Catholic Schools Week soon. This is always a special time to recognise the unique role our school plays in the wider Catholic community. Further details about events and activities will be shared in the coming week.

  • Tumbarumba Show – This weekend, our students' artwork will be on display at the Tumbarumba Show. I encourage everyone to check it out and celebrate the creativity and hard work of our students.

  • Laurel Hill Leadership Camp – Next Thursday and Friday, our Year 4, 5, and 6 students will be attending the Laurel Hill Leadership Camp with myself and Mrs Barclay. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop leadership skills, resilience, and teamwork in a unique outdoor setting. We look forward to an enriching experience for all involved.

This week, our students began their NAPLAN assessments. We are proud of the way they have approached these tests with focus and determination.

Once again, thank you all for your continued support of our school community. I look forward to working together throughout the year to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

Yours sincerely,

Daniel Francis

Principal
