Bunnings Sausage Sizzle update
Thank you so much to all of the incredible volunteers that made our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle happen. It would not have been possible without every single one of you. Despite the wet weather, we had a great turn out and raised around $1,000 for our school community!
Colour Run - Wednesday 2nd April
The PFA is very excited to coordinate our first WPS colour run! The colour run is being added on to the annual Lapathon, as we thought it would be wonderful to try something new (and colourful).
The colour run will be an opt-in component for students that want to run, get colourful, and have a fantastic time. Parents, please don’t worry, we have made sure the colour is safe and toxin-free. (It’s made from corn-starch with food grade dyes.) Children will be asked to wear their school hats during the lapathon, and we recommend wearing sunglasses if you are concerned about getting powder in their eyes.
Students are encouraged to wear a white t-shirt to show they want to be covered in colour and ensure that wonderful colour is on display. If students would like to walk or run, but do not want colour on them, please support them to wear a black t-shirt (or any dark coloured shirt) so we know they are running colour-free.
Ms Mann has also organised a sausage sizzle on the day (pre-orders only) to energise and celebrate a beautiful afternoon, serving from 1pm - 1.30pm. The lapathon/colour run will take place between 2:15-3:15. We would love some helpers! Please sign up here if you are available to help us on the day.
Some additional information:
The colour powder does generally wash out of hair and clothing. However, make sure your child wears old clothes & shoes that you don’t mind getting splashed with colour – while the colour should wash out, it may stain clothing and shoes if left for too long.
We suggest you bring a towel for your child to sit on for the travel home. It might help stop the spread of colour in your car.
Children who go to Bug-a-lugs or take the school bus home and want to be covered in colour need to bring a complete change of clothes including a beanie or cap to contain the colour, plus a towel to wipe down any exposed skin. A plastic bag to contain their colourful clothing would be a good idea.
