Welcome to 2025!

A message from the Principal

Welcome to the New School Year

We are delighted to welcome everyone to St. Peter’s for the 2025 school year! A special welcome to all new students and families joining our community. This year, we welcome 20 new Prep students and 11 new students across other year levels.

We also extend a warm welcome to our new teaching staff:

  • Mr. Jeremy Rodi (Balam-Balam)
  • Miss Taylah Smith (Barrangal)
  • Mr. Martyn Dillon (Yulawil)
  • Mr. Jake Higgins (Banya)

Several of these teachers are familiar faces, having previously worked at St. Peter’s as Education Support Officers (ESOs). We’re also pleased to welcome back:

  • Ms. Melisa Cardinal (Balam-Balam)
  • Mrs. Emma Smith (Specialist Teacher)

We hope you all enjoy your journey at St. Peter’s!

Opening Mass

Our Opening Mass will be held on Friday, 7th February, at 9:45 am at St. Kilian’s Church. All students will travel by bus to the church, and families and friends are warmly invited to join us.

After the Mass, we invite you to return to school for morning tea. We hope to see many of you there!

Hello Night

Our annual Hello Night is a fantastic opportunity for families to meet their child’s teacher, visit classrooms, and connect with other families in a relaxed setting.

This year, Hello Night will be held on Tuesday, 11th February, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. We’ll fire up the BBQ and provide sausages for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there!

SiMON Everywhere App

Need help setting up your SiMON Everywhere App or logging in? Kate is available in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to assist you.

Having access to the app is essential for receiving important school updates, giving permissions, and updating medical details.

Smartwatches and Mobile Phones

A reminder that students are not permitted to have mobile phones or smartwatches at school. If your child brings one, they must either:

  • Leave it at home, or
  • Hand it in at the office for safekeeping during the school day.

Any devices seen at school will be collected and returned at the end of the day.

3:15 pm Finish Time

This year, students will remain in their classrooms until 3:15 pm to maximise learning time. At 3:15 pm, class groups will walk to the car park together.

Car Park Safety

To ensure everyone's safety, please use the designated crossing in the centre of the car park when moving between sections. A staff member will be on duty—please follow their directions.

  • The area closest to the school is a Kiss & Drop zone (for quick drop-offs and pick-ups).
  • If you need to park and leave your vehicle, please use the roadside parking.

Thank you for helping keep our school community safe!

God Bless,

                 Jeremy Darmody
