Extended Leave

At times families take extended leave for a variety of reasons. The NSW Department of Education School Attendance Policy outlines the following approved reasons for Extended Leave. 

• Misadventure or unforeseen circumstances
• Participation in special events not related to the school (Eg Family birthday celebrations or Wedding)
• Domestic necessity such as  serious illness of an immediate family member
• Attendance at funerals
• Recognised religious festivals
• Ceremonial occasions

Should your child require extended time off school for any of the above reasons, please speak to the office about completing an Extended Leave application. 

If the leave is approved, an Extended Leave Certificate will be issued.

If the criteria is not met, an application is not required and the absence will be recorded as absent unjustified.
