Dear Families,
It is with great sadness that I share the news that Sr Julie Ogbole SON passed away early this morning. Sisters Faustina, Victoria and Grace were with her, keeping a prayerful vigil. The Sisters of the Nativity work together with the parish team across the parishes of St Thomas the Apostle, Clyde North and St Agatha's and Sr Julie's passing will be felt by many. I ask that you keep our clergy in your prayers as they mourn the loss of Sr Julie, may she rest in peace.
Cyber Safety Parent Information Session
Yesterday, I sent reminders out to families regarding our family evening. Please take the time to read the communication and sign up for attending. Cyber Safety is such a large part of our every day conversation and if you are anything like me, you are struggling to keep up with the many and constant changes to technology use that face us today. Just when you think you have mastered one app or website, something new comes along and the children seem to be one step ahead! Many of you reach out to us for support in this area, I strongly urge that at least one parent per family attends this important information session.
Susan McLean is Australia's foremost expert in the area of Cyber Safety and young people. She was the first Victorian Police Officer appointed to a position involving Cyber Safety and young people.

Come and join us
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Welcome BBQ last week. The weather, although not perfect, didn't put too many of you off and it really was a wonderful celebration of our community. I was happy to turn the BBQs off and stop cooking though - 37 degrees felt like so much more from the cooking station!
As you know, we mixed it up a little this year and asked you to pop into the classrooms to say hello. Feedback from the teachers was positive about this - they loved welcoming you into the classrooms for a chat and providing an opportunity to introduce themselves. Please remember, our staff have an open door policy - if you need to speak with them, drop by the classrooms before or after school. If a little more time is needed, they will set up a time to meet that is mutually convenient. I know many of you aren't always able to pop in - you're welcome to keep in touch by email too!
Now we've seen so many of you at school, I reiterate our invitation to join us for our whole school assemblies held on alternate Mondays - next week is to be led by Senior B. I also issue an invitation for you to join us in celebrating our School Blessing Mass next Tuesday, 25th March at 12.15pm in the school hall. After Mass we will be announcing our student leadership teams - it would be wonderful to share this with our parent community.
Michelle Hinds, our Deputy, is currently hosting a series of volunteer induction sessions. If you are interested in volunteering at the school we ask that you have either attended a session in 2024 or attend one this year. If you reqre further information, please contact Michelle - mhinds@sttcbourne.catholic.edu.au
Goodbye and Good Luck
At the end of this week we will farewell Mrs Coreen Grimwood, one of our much loved education support staff. In the short time she has been with us, Coreen formed beautiful relationships with the students that she has supported and they, along with the staff will miss her. Coreen, we wish you all the very best in your new role and hope it brings you much joy. The staff and students at St Therese's will miss your smile, encouragement and positivity. Good bye, good luck and God bless!
Don't forget you can keep up to date with news and events happening at the school by following us on Instagram or Facebook!
