Squad Program Update

This week marked the official launch of our new before and after-school squads, and it’s been an exciting time for both our students and the school community.

We kicked off on Monday at 7:45 AM with 21 enthusiastic students gathering at Jack Eddy Oval for the Athletics Squad, led by Coach Kate. Later in the afternoon, we saw the start of our Golf Squad at Rich River, where students are honing their skills and working on their handicaps in preparation for joining the school team.

Then on Tuesday, 51 students attended the Swimming Squad at the Echuca pool, under the guidance of Coaches Ron, Alina, and Kelly. A big thank you to our parent helpers, Brooke and Sally, who kindly cooked 54 delicious bacon and egg rolls to fuel the swimmers!

Wednesday saw the start of our Netball Squads, with Coach Gina and her assistant Gemma leading the primary students at the Moama Netball courts at 7:45 AM. This was followed by Thursday, where we had both Secondary Netball and Primary Basketball sessions with Coach Luke. Friday rounded out the week with Secondary Basketball, along with RAS and BISSA swimmers making a splash!

A huge congratulations to the students who have accepted the challenge to be part of this program. A big thank you to our Coaches for creating such engaging and dynamic programs. There are still spaces available in the squads, so if you’d like to join, please email Mr Greg Cadd at gcadd@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au

Due to the record interest in Swimming Squad, we will be running it over two days (Tuesday or Friday) so that students can maximise their time in the water.

Basketball 3 x 3 Tournaments

Thanks to Coach Luke who has been running selection sessions for students to compete in the 3x3 tournaments that start later in the month.  Watch out for the permission notes home for this.

Learn to Row

These sessions start Monday at Lake Weeroona in Bendigo.  We wish all the students who have signed up for this program the best of luck and congratulate Mr Gilbert on all the work he has done to get us to this point.

Drama Club

This week marked the first lunchtime session of Moama Anglican Grammar's Drama Club. Students from Years 6 - 10 showed their enthusiasm, comic timing and improvisational skills in games such as 'Honey, I Love You', 'What's in the box?' and 'Park Bench'. Stay tuned for details of upcoming afternoon sessions as they arise.

Any interested students can see Miss Chandra Hale at chale@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au  for further information about this.

Vocal Trios

Harmony singing helps young singers develop essential musical skills such as pitch accuracy, listening and blending their voices with others. It enhances their ability to recognize and adjust to different vocal parts, strengthening their overall musicianship. Small group singing fosters teamwork, confidence and adaptability, preparing them for a variety of performance opportunities.

In 2025 we have established two vocal trios in the Secondary School who are in the midst of learning a number of acapella and accompanied music.  Any interested singers can see Miss Chandra Hale at chale@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au for further information about this.
