TRADES
Matthew.Depiazzi@education.wa.edu.au
The Trades team has kicked off the year on a strong note, with students quickly settling into their routines and getting involved in hands-on learning. As always, we encourage parents and carers to reach out to our Trades staff at any time if they have questions or concerns throughout the year.
This term brings a couple of staffing changes. Shaun Cantwell is away on long service leave for 10 weeks and during this time, I will be taking on the role of Head of Trades while continuing my work in Building and Construction training.
We also extend a warm welcome to Jake Williams, who has joined us for the term to support Building and Construction, Furnishings and Automotive.
Our ongoing trades staff includes:
Duncan Campbell – Automotive.
Guy Truss – Engineering.
Keith Briggs – Furnishings and Engineering.
Year 10 students are adjusting well to their new schedules, and it’s great to see them actively engaging in practical sessions within the workshops.
Year 11 students are steadily progressing and advancing their skills as they take on new challenges.
Meanwhile, the Year 12s have picked up right where they left off, immersing themselves in their final year of trade studies. This will undoubtedly be an exciting and fast-paced year for them as they fine-tune their abilities and prepare for future opportunities.
We’re looking forward to a fantastic term ahead!
