Principal's Message to the School Community

Dear KPS Families,

A Sincere Thank You to Our Dedicated Volunteers

On behalf of the school community, we would like to extend our gratitude to the volunteers who participated in our first working bee for the year last weekend. Your generosity, commitment, and hard work played an essential role in enhancing the school's environment.

The time and effort you devoted to tasks such as weeding, improving the landscaping of our cliff garden bed, and general maintenance have significantly contributed to the beautification and upkeep of our school grounds. Your actions not only improve the physical space but also foster a sense of community and pride that is invaluable to our school culture.

We are truly appreciative of your support and involvement, and we look forward to your continued participation in future initiatives. Once again, thank you for your invaluable contribution to our school.

Invitation to Join the School Council

We are pleased to extend an invitation for you to become an integral part of our School Council. At Kyneton Primary School, we strongly believe in the power of collaboration between parents, teachers, and school leadership to foster an environment that promotes the academic and social development of all students. Your involvement in the School Council offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the continued success and improvement of our school community.

The Role of the School Council

The School Council serves as an advisory body, working closely with the Principal and staff to guide decision-making processes that affect the overall direction of the school. Key areas of focus include:

  • Providing input on school policies and educational programs
  • Assisting in the planning and organisation of school events and initiatives
  • Offering feedback on the school’s strategic plan and annual implementation plan
  • Supporting fundraising and community engagement activities

Benefits of Joining the School Council

By joining the School Council, you will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the school’s operations and objectives
  • Have a direct impact on decisions that shape your child’s educational experience
  • Collaborate with fellow parents and staff to enhance the school environment
  • Help foster a sense of community and ensure the school’s long-term success

How to Get Involved

We are seeking parents who are passionate about making a positive difference in the school community. Each member of council serves for a two-year term before being eligible for re-election. This year there are three parent member vacancies and one school employee member vacancies. A statement will be sought from each candidate for distribution with election ballot papers, should an election be required.

Nomination forms can also be obtained from the school office.

Nominations must be lodged by 4:00pm Thursday 6th March 2024.

We look forward to the opportunity to work together to support the continued development of our school and the success of our students.

Thank you for your commitment to our school community.
