Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians

2025 has certainly started with much excitement as we welcomed over 70 new students and families to our school as well as 3 new staff and a number of staff returning after being on family leave.

Our theme this year to support connections and growth is Together We Can......

Each class has unpacked what this means to them in them and words such as empowerment, support, celebration and kindness have been explored.

Communication

We continue to explore ways to ensure our communication processes are effective to enhance parent-school partnerships.  If you are having difficulties logging into the Nforma for parents app or the portal could you please email gsoffice so we can address this matter.  We are meeting with the Nforma administrators regularly to iron out any issues and also learn how to roll out all the new features.

Year level Term 1 Overview (Around the Classrooms) will be sent out via Nforma to parents on Monday morning (17th February) or via email.

Car park safety

I have had a number of parents and staff raise concerns with me this week about disrespectful and unsafe behaviour in the school/parish carpark.  An important reminder that the speed limit is 5km per hour and this is clearly stated on the entry gate of the carpark.  It is important that if parents are dropping off their children that they do it quickly (kiss and drop) and that we all show patience and respect as we wait in the queue.  There are cars that are overtaking other vehicles in an unsafe way and students not entering through the correct gates.  Parents/Grandparents should not be parking in the carpark at the beginning and end of the school day as it is quite unsafe for children to walk around moving cars.  It is my biggest fear that an accident will occur due to many of these unsafe behaviours.
