Year One/Two News 

This week in maths we are learning about length. Students have been using informal units to measure objects around the classroom, ordering objects according to length, and use vocabulary that relates to length (shorter, longer, shortest, longest and equal length).  

Students have also been practising writing successful sentences. Last week students enjoyed creating a butterfly and writing a successful sentence to describe their butterfly. We welcome our 1/2 families in to their classrooms to check out these beautiful writing pieces. 

Next week in Maths students will be learning about Capacity. We would like each student to bring along 1-3 containers that are plastic and do not have holes. These will be used through out the week and will be filled with sand, water, uni-fix blocks and other materials.
