Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.
We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.
May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.
School Council Elections
School Councils play a vital role in Victorian government schools.
Would you like to know more about school operations?
Would you like to have a role in establishing the broad direction and vision of the school within the school's community?
Nominations for our 2025 School Council are being called, and we would love to have some new members join us this year.
Self-nomination forms are available from our office and are open from today through until Friday 7th March.
Should there be more nominations than vacancies, a ballot will then commence over the course of the following week to establish the final membership.
Please consider nominating and joining a vibrant and active group of volunteers, who provide wonderful governance for our school community.
Staffing
It is with delight that we congratulate Mr Bell and his family on the arrival of Archie Bell.
We wish the Bell family all the very best as they settle into life with Baby Archie.
Kate Antonio will be the classroom teacher in S1 during Mr Bell's leave.
Athletics Day and Ball Sports
Just a reminder to families of the dates for both Athletics Day and Ball Sports in 2025.
Athletics Day - April 3
Ball Sports - November 7
We look forward to having lots of families join us for both events.
Connect Ed
We have lots of families joining us for Connect Ed this year - thank you!
Lots of important information is being shared about how we learn at MRK-6 and the strategies and supports that we can implement as a partnership between home and school to maximise the learning of our children.
Facilitated by our Mathematics and English Learning Specialists, the program is an insightful and informative program for our families.
Assembly
We look forward to hosting our school community at our next assembly where we will present our Junior School Council with their badges.
Enjoy the rest of the week,
Kylie Nissen.
