Principal Message

Be Kind, Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible, Be resilient, Be ready
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the beginning of another school year, no doubt, it will have a surprise or two to reveal to us; we can but hope they will be happy surprises. To all families and to our caring community we offer the warmest of welcomes. It was so great to see all the students so happy and engaged this week and to see the smiles on the parents as they dropped them off!!
Research, anywhere in the world, confirms that when parents are partners in their children’s education, their children improve their achievement levels. So, keep in touch with the school. Don’t leave it always to the school to let you know how your child is achieving. Stay aware of what your child is learning, and how they perform in them. We will be holding ’Getting to Know You Conversations’ on Tuesday 18th February. Information regarding these meetings will be sent home soon. Good communication between home and school is vital to create and sustain a climate that is conducive to productive learning.
Parents, you are the source of your child’s affirmation. Children will believe what the people they love and trust believe, including how they feel about school and their ability to learn. So, after praise and encouragement, encourage perseverance. A warm, supportive home atmosphere will influence your child’s confidence and motivation to become a successful learner.
We hope that throughout the year, our school will be a place where staff, students, and families have opportunities to experience God’s presence in our lives.
Within our school, we can all try to model God’s love for each one of us, by being a renewing community where all members are valued, affirmed, and empowered; where our commitment to Gospel values is expressed in every facet of our school’s endeavors. For this sentiment to continue throughout the year, it will require our collective wisdom and generosity of spirit to be at the forefront of all our communications.
So once again welcome.
Enjoy the year
Keep Smiling
Cathy
