Year 1/2 News

Learning Centre One
What a fantastic four weeks it has been! The 1/2 students have fully immersed themselves in their learning with great enthusiasm, making an exciting start to the term.
In Literacy, students explored Noni the Pony by Alison Lester, focusing on making predictions, identifying rhyming words, and recognizing verbs. They also began their Little Learners Love Literacy journey, diving into the sounds ‘ai’ and ‘ay’ through creative and engaging activities.
In Mathematics, students continued learning about data, developing skills in gathering, recording, and representing information. They also started exploring number and place value, counting forwards and backwards to and from 120, and investigating tens frames and place value concepts.
In Religion students have been learning about different types of prayer and their significance. They reflected on various prayers and even had the opportunity to write their own, deepening their understanding of this important aspect of their faith.
During Wellbeing the students have been learning about Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) and have begun learning about emotional literacy from our Respectful Relationships framework. They have been exploring what different emotions are, what they look like and how we can respond to different emotions.
It has been a wonderful start to the year, filled with exciting learning experiences. We look forward to the journey ahead!
Just a reminder that the playground outside Learning Centre One isn't supervised before and after school. We ask that no children play on the equipment as we want to ensure their safety.
