Technology and Applied Science Faculty

The TAS faculty at Camden High is excited for another dynamic year of hands-on learning, creativity, and innovation. Our team is made up of passionate and dedicated educators who bring a wealth of experience across a diverse range of subjects, including Food Technology, Hospitality, Timber, Agriculture, Community and Family Studies, Textiles, and Digital Technologies. 

 

In TAS, we strive to provide students with engaging, real-world learning experiences that develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and creativity. Our faculty is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive, challenge themselves, and gain confidence in their abilities. 

 

This year, we are thrilled to welcome some new faces to the team and to see familiar ones continue their fantastic work. With a strong focus on student success and well-being, we look forward to guiding our students through an exciting year of discovery and achievement in 2025. 

 

Meet our team and learn more about the subjects we teach below! 

 

Kathryn Brasington - I am Kathryn Brasington, I have worked at Camden High School since 2020. This year I will be working in the TAS faculty and although I will miss my science buddies, I am excited to work with a wonderful group of teachers and students in TAS. I will be teaching Year 7 Technology Mandatory (Digital Technologies) and Year 8 Food Technology. I am passionate about supporting student wellbeing and love to see when students enjoy coming to my classes and succeed at achieving their goals.

 

 

 

 

   

Rebecca Duryea - My name is Rebecca Duryea I am the HT TAS. I started at Camden high School in 2020. This year I am teaching Year 11& 12 Hospitality, Year 9 Food Technology and Year 8 Technology Mandatory Agriculture and Food. I love teaching as every day is dynamic and always full of opportunities. I have a passionate and committed team of teachers who enjoy working together to meet the needs of our students. I feel lucky to be working in our beautiful natural environment which is unique to our school. Let's thrive in 25 is our team moto this year! 

 

 

 

   

Ty O’Brien - Hi, my name is Mr O'Brien. I have been teaching at CHS since 2006 across many different faculty areas. I am a qualified PDHPE and TAS teacher. My classes this year are a mix of junior and senior timber courses. Outside of the classroom, I have a passion for sport and coaching teams. Camden high offers a myriad of different extra curricular activities which gives me the opportunity to coach many of our sporting teams, particularly Rugby League. The Camden/Cowra exchange is always a highlight. I am very lucky to be working in the best faculty with fantastic colleagues who do a super job in guiding our students through their high school careers. I look forward to meeting our new year 7 cohort and also reconnecting with some familiar faces throughout 2025 and of course taking a few down in our pickleball tournaments. 

  

 

Tarin Palmer - Hi, I'm Tarin Palmer and I have been teaching at Camden High since 2021. This year I am teaching Year 11 & 12 Community & Family Studies, Year 9 &10 Food Technology, Year 9 Child Studies & Year 8 Technology Mandatory (Agriculture). I am passionate about lifting student achievement, and feel lucky to be a member of the Camden High School Community and in the fantastic TAS team!  

 

 

 

  

Matilda Russell - Hi, my name is Matilda Russell (aka Russell Muscle). I’ve been teaching at Camden since 2017 and have been apart of the TAS faculty since 2018. I’m very lucky to be one of the year advisors to the awesome year 11 cohort (best year group in the school 😉 ). Even though I completed my Bachelor of Music to become a music teacher, I love teaching the diverse range of subjects within TAS and feel lucky to work with the amazing teachers within the faculty. This year I’m teaching Y7 Textiles, Y8 Agriculture, I’ll be cooking up a storm with my Y9, 10 and 11 Food Technology classes, as well as having my Y10 Child Studies and Y12 CAFS classes.  

 

 

Ashita Singh - Hi, I’m Ms. Singh (formerly Ms. Kumar), and I have been teaching at Camden High School since 2004. This year, I am teaching Year 11 and 12 Hospitality, Year 12 Community & Family Studies, Year 9 and 10 Food Technology, Year 8 Technology Mandatory (Food Technology), and Year 7 Technology Mandatory (Engineered Systems). I feel fortunate to be part of the amazing TAS team and a valued member of the Camden High School community. Teaching is my passion, and I am dedicated to enhancing student achievement and success. 

 

 

 

Vanessa Stipanovic - My name is Vanessa Stipanovic and I have been proudly teaching at Camden High School since 2020. I have been a TAS teacher for 25 years and will be working part time, 3 days a week in 2025.  This year I am teaching Year 12 Design and Technology, Year 11 Community and Family Studies, Year 11 Hospitality and Year 9 Food Technology. I am passionate about teaching TAS courses and value the opportunities that our students have in learning life skills and being able to explore their creativity our the classrooms. I consider myself to be a creative thinker, problem solver and life long learner. 

 

 

Adam Storey - Hi, I’m Adam Storey, and I’ve been teaching at Camden High School since 2023. Before transitioning to education, I spent six years serving in the NSW Police Force. This year, I’m teaching Year 9, 10 and 11 Industrial Technology Timber, Year 8 Technology Mandatory (Timber & Agriculture), and Year 7 Technology Mandatory (Digital Technologies). I have a passion for teaching timber and other TAS subjects, as they equip students with valuable hands-on skills that extend beyond the classroom. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a faculty that fosters a supportive and collaborative environment for both staff and students. Outside of teaching, I enjoy playing AFL and dominating the pickleball court!
