WellBeing

Sarah Gething – Secondary School Nurse

A little about Me: My role at Seymour College focuses on health promotion and primary prevention, with the aim of enhancing students' health, wellbeing, and learning outcomes. I work closely with the school wellbeing team and am located in the wellbeing centre.

On a personal note, I have two beautiful girls and enjoy spending quality time with my family, particularly when we have the opportunity to go on holidays together. We also have two Kelpie dogs, four chickens, and four Dorper sheep.

I have spent the past 10 years working at Broadford Secondary College and previously worked at Seymour College in 2018 before taking family leave. I am thrilled to be returning to Seymour College and look forward to engaging with and supporting our incredible students.

Tayla Root – Provisional Psychologist

Hello, I’m Tayla Root, and I’m excited to share a bit about my role as a Provisional Psychologist at Seymour College. In this position, I provide individual support and counselling to students, focusing on their emotional and mental wellbeing. My primary goal is to offer services that help students navigate common wellbeing challenges, ensuring they can flourish both academically and personally.

As a member of the wellbeing team, I work within the team to create a supportive environment where students feel safe and valued.  I am passionate about encouraging both students and their families and aim to collaborate closely with families to support their children effectively.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my young daughter. We love spending time reading books and cooking together.

I am dedicated to fostering resilience and personal growth in the students I work with, and I am excited about the year ahead.
