On Monday morning, the Solid Rock Choir will be performing at our Whole School Assembly, which also includes a performance from our Year 2 Junior Choir.
Student academic reports will be published by 4pm on Monday 30th June.
The next episode of Clyde TV will be shown in classrooms on the last day of term, parents are welcomed to come and watch with the students.
On the last day of term, we finish at 2:30pm on Friday 4th July.
We are thrilled to announce that we are getting a new playground thanks to our school community. Over recent years we have been saving money from some of our fundraisers to be able to purchase a new playground for the front of the school, near the Foundation gate. This will be for our growing Foundation student enrolments. Our School Council recently approved the design (pictured above), to tie in with the current school playground pieces and student interest. Construction will begin later this year, so this current year's Foundation will be the first students to use it!
Congratulations to Tegan Crow on the arrival of her beautiful girl!
Recently, Mrs Chebbou, our Auslan teacher started her Family Leave. With this is mind, we have been unable to employ a suitable Auslan teacher. Therefore, we will not be running an Auslan program in Semester 2. This means that an achievement standard for Auslan will appear on the upcoming June reports for Year 1-6 students, but not in the December reports. We will again try an engage with a suitable language teacher for 2026, or until the return of Mrs Chebbou.
We will also be putting our Music lessons on hold after Semester 1, as Mrs Turner is required in another area of our school. Instead of Music lessons, students will attend our new weekly STEM specialist lessons (an engaging hands on approach to the fields within Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with Mrs Monterrosa, our new STEM teacher, who starts next term.
The Premiers Reading Challenge ends on 5th September and so with just under 3 months left, it is time for an update.
Congratulations to the 87 students who have currently completed the challenge! That's 16% of the students at Clyde, so keep them coming!
If your child is yet to sign up for the challenge and would like to participate, please email the school via clyde.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Recently, Clyde Primary School renewed our SunSmart membership, giving us our 25th SunSmart birthday! We are proud of this achievement and what it means to be 'SunSmart'.
Last Tuesday, our Year 3 and 4 students went on their Arthurs Seat Excursion. They braved the cold while they rode up and down the Gondolas. Each student got the chance to sit on the old chairs that were used in previous years while they listening to tour guides who spoke to the history of the Eagle.
On Friday the 20th June our Year ones headed on their excursion to Puffing Billy.
They left Clyde and arrived at Belgrave Station by 10am where they had Fruit and snack and a toilet stop, after they were ready, they began boarding the train at 11am ready to depart for Lakeside.
Before getting on the train our students were lucky enough to see the steam engine up close, some even lucky enough to hold and explore coal from the train driver. Once the carriages were loaded, they left and sat on the train an hour, waving to the local community, looking for animals and enjoying the ride.
Finally, they arrived at Lakeside and our students spilt up into two groups. One went to have lunch at the playground and the other explored the visitor centre. Learning about Puffing Billy's history and impact on the local community. Students were able to explore parts from the past and hold objects significant to Puffing Billy. It was a wonderful day in the sunshine!
Our school community would like to congratulate Namo on competing in Regional Cross Country last week. She did so well, and such a great achievement making it to such a high level of competition. Well done Namo, we are all very proud of you.
Our wonderful students participated in a Clyde Netball Tournament last Wednesday 18th. The whole gym was electrified with positive enthusiasm! With only 8 minutes to each game, students had to work hard for their team to win and that they did! Well done to Mrs Bevis for umpiring each game.
What a day we had at Lightning Premiership this week! It was touch and go with the weather for our AFL and Soccer teams, but we went ahead and packed our winter woolies! Netball were much warmer in Casey Stadium!
AFL
For the first time, the competition has changed to a 9v9 format. Clyde had 2 teams in the competition. The vibe when our teams were warming up was amazing. They were so pumped and ready to give it their best. They demonstrated good teamwork and sportsmanship towards the other teams, with less experience than them. The weather didn't bother them at all. Both teams got to play two games each, and we won both of them, which is a great result. We are eagerly awaiting to see if we make it to Division. Stay tuned!
Soccer
Clyde had one team of enthusiastic soccer players today! They did really well against some tough competition. They managed 2.5 games before getting rained out. They didn't come out with any wins, but they worked well as a team and had a good time!
Netball
Lucky netballers didn't have to worry about the wet weather! We had 3 teams representing Clyde at Casey Stadium today. All our teams made the Semi finals, which is an awesome achievement. They all played their best, working together as teams, but didn't make it through to the Grand Final.
We are all really proud of the Year 5/6 students that participated at Lightning Premiership. They showed great teamwork, sportsmanship and certainly resilience! Thanks to our parent helpers and to our parent cheer squad too!
Thank you to everyone for your donations to this fundraiser. $434.75 was raised and will go towards the Year 6 Big Day Out Celebration at Gumbuya World at the end of the year.
