Big Issue Street Soccer

A number of Year 11 students who are attending the forthcoming Kimberley Immersion program participated in the Big Issue Street Soccer program on the afternoon of Tuesday, 1 April at Wellington Square.

The Community Street Soccer program is a fun and exciting initiative of the Big Issue which gives participants an opportunity to get active, make new friends and seek support.

All players and volunteers then enjoyed a well-deserved drink on a warm afternoon and then a sausage sizzle provided by Mercedes College.

The exchange of stories post-game and the camaraderie between players and volunteers was a real highlight and reinforced the value of such great community programs. We look forward to being involved again early next Term.

Year 11/12 Business Management and Enterprise

Excursion to Browne’s Dairy

Last week, our Year 11 and 12 Business Management and Enterprise and Accounting and Finance students were afforded the experience of visiting Browne’s Dairy as part of their studies on Innovation, Change Management and Corporate Social Responsibility. The focus of the visit was to learn about how Browne’s innovates to remain competitive in challenging market conditions to meet the diverse needs of consumers in global economies.

We were privileged to have the opportunity to spend some time with Browne’s CEO, Natalie Sarich-Dayton, who provided an informative, honest and insightful overview of the company's recent innovations including their flagship product - Hunt and Brew. Later in the year, the students attending the Humanities Tour will have the opportunity to meet with Natalie in the UK and will take part in promoting the product to consumers in London.
