“The leaders who work most effectively, it seems to me, never say “I”.  They don’t think “I.” They think “we”; they think “team.”  – Peter Drucker

USPS School Leaders-Vyom, Jasper, Isla and Judd

The Acknowledgement of Country which was read during our assembly this week was developed and written by our School Leaders. This acknowledgement was written following a conversation we had about the lands on which our school is built. The leaders discussed the importance of giving thanks to the indigenous people who have lived here over the past 70,000 years, and wrote the following acknowledgement:

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri elders, past, present and emerging for sharing this land that we teach, connect and learn upon.

We continue to walk together to make a stronger future for this land we call home.

We greatly appreciate the elders for taking care of this amazing country.

School Wide Positive Behaviour for Learning school leaders

Well done to our SWPBL school leaders: Finn, Olive, Bonnie and Jacob, who spoke for the first time at our assembly this week. They are selling the ANZAC day items to raise funds for RSL Australia. The four students spoke calmly, respectfully and with a positive attitude. Great qualities for our Positive Behaviour for Learning school leaders.

House Leaders 2025

This week we had our Coolibah House Leaders - Stevie and Lucas, present their first Sports report and house points. Well done to both students who spoke clearly and confidently. We would also like to say a huge congratulations to MULGA House for winning the Term One House Points trophy!

Science Leaders

Beau and Alexander spoke for their first time at our assembly this week. Their speech was very informative, and delivered with knowledge and confidence. A highlight of their speech was the importance to recycle our soft plastics in each classroom. Don't forget to remind your child to place soft plastics into our special bins.

Message from Miss Humphries

What a fantastic term we have had with all our students trying their best in all areas of the curriculum. During the term our teaching team have had a focus on ORDERLINESS. Goals have been set for classes to be clean in their learning spaces, sitting respectfully while listening and learning, moving around the school orderly and by using our green / yellow check-in points and being organised and displaying orderliness in our school books.

As a staff we celebrated all our successes during our Professional Learning  session on Tuesday afternoon. Viewing the presentations and discussing our whole school positive moments is a rewarding part of all our jobs.

I would like to wish all students and parents and very happy Easter Holiday break. Take this time to relax with your families and enjoy many fun experiences together. We will see you back at school on Tuesday 22nd April.

Llew Humphries.
