Principal Message

Dear Families,
Term 1 nearly done! Please take some time to reflect on a great term of learning, socialising, playing, negotiating and so much more. Enjoy the break that is just around the corner… Teachers – rest up too and enjoy some time for you!
ANZAC Assembly: Our student leaders will conduct a special ANZAC assembly on Thursday 24th April. The assembly will commence at 9:15am in the gym, with special guests invited. All families and grandparents are warmly welcomed to attend.
Regional Swimming: Congratulations to our incredible regional swimmers—Nalu H, Charlotte E, Sylvie C, Paige B, Primrose H, Harriett H, Ace C, Max B, and Will G! Reaching this level is a testament to your dedication, hard work, and determination in the pool. We are so proud of your achievements and the way you’ve represented our school. Well done!
Footy at school: It’s great to see so many footballs and games being played on the oval this week. I have seen some impressive marks and passages of play! We have also given the students a reminder that there is a no tackling rule. We prefer to send students home in the same condition as they came to school and also, so that clothes do not get stretched, ripped or damaged. If a student does tackle, they will be asked to leave the oval for the rest of the day and try again the following day. Can you please reinforce this with your footballer, so we are all on the same page.
Weekends: It was disappointing to hear that guests onsite at school over the weekend were being unsafe. Our school seems to be a popular place out of hours, and I ask those who are onsite to try and be our eyes! If you see people doing the wrong thing, please call the local police station. We want our school to be fully operational after every weekend and holiday period. Perhaps remind the guests that we do have a large number of CCTV cameras around!
Writing workshop: On Monday Mrs H and Mrs McKeon worked with a highly talented group of writers from Year 3-6 in an online tutorial with an author sharing tips and tricks. The work the students produced was outstanding. More of these high level opportunities are coming later in the year in a wider range of areas, thanks to Mrs H leading the High Abilities area of the school.
Jenny Warren: The amazing font of all knowledge and families, Jenny, is taking a well-deserved break for all of term 2. We have heard some details about this trip of a lifetime! We wish Jen all the best, can’t wait to see the photos and hear the stories during and after the trip! We welcome Jen Wood into the admin team to support Jade and Mel who will keep us going in the front office. To Jen and husband Craig, we wish you a safe and memorable trip!
Friday: School dismissal at 2.30pm this Friday. Enjoy the holidays!
