David's Message

Dear Sunshine Heights Parents and Carers,
Term has drawn to a close, and we wish each of our families a safe and happy holidays. Many of our families will have just finished celebrating Eid Al-Fitr, whilst others celebrated Holi. In the coming weeks we also have Easter for both Christian and Orthodox communities, and passover as well. Whether these celebrations are part of your family's traditions, or if you are simply having a welcome break with friends and family, we look forward to hearing of your many adventures on our return next term.
Just as the bees have been busily buzzing around the Rosemary in our garden, our preps have been busy creating beautiful artworks with Miss Lauren in the Art room. It is always a special pleasure being able to wander through our classrooms and seeing the great learning that our students get up to.
Our grade 5/6 students were finalising their persuasive texts, asking either myself or Miss McMahon if we can get a therapy dog for our school. I love being able to hear the authentic arguments students have created and who knows, watch this space to see if a four legged friend joins us in the future!
This coming term is an exciting one for us. As well as Twilight School on the first Thursday in June, we will also be preparing for our school review. As part of this, we'll be seeking lots of feedback from our parents, our students and our staff about the next four years of our learning and improvement journey. If you haven't already, please grab one of the postcards from the office and give us your thoughts.
Wishing each of you a very restful and happy holidays!
Best wishes,
David and the Entire Sunny Heights Team
