Year 7 to Year 9

Atomi (Week 10)

Dear families,

As the term comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on your child’s progress and achievements using Atomi. This is a great opportunity to review what’s worked well and set new goals for the future.

Quick tip:

Sit down with your child to review their progress over the term. Reflect on their achievements and discuss areas for further growth.

Questions to ask your child:

   •   What achievements are you most proud of this term?

   •   What areas do you want to focus on for the next term?

What a Term It's Been!

As Term One draws to a close, it’s hard not to reflect on the energy, growth and achievements that have filled the past few months at Salvado Catholic College in Middle School. It’s been a term packed with learning, new experiences, challenges and so many moments that reflect the heart of who we are as a community.

Our Year Seven students have quickly become an integral part of our College, learning what it means to be in secondary school and embracing the opportunities to build friendships, develop good habits, and grow in their learning. They’ve shown great spirit as they adjust to new routines and expectations—well done!

Our Year Eights have stepped up beautifully, taking on the extra responsibility of no longer being the youngest in secondary school. They’ve begun navigating their age's more complex social dynamics with maturity and are continuing to find their voices as young adolescents.

Meanwhile, our Year Nines are starting to look ahead—with Careers classes prompting them to consider what their futures might look like. This term has been about planting the seeds of ambition and direction. The message has been clear: the effort they put in now sets the foundation for the choices they'll soon make in Year Ten and beyond.

A heartfelt "Thank You" goes to our dedicated Year Coordinators, particularly Ms MacDonald and Mr Stone, for their unwavering commitment to the wellbeing and development of our students. Their presence, care and guidance are central to the strong pastoral support that underpins everything we do.

As many of you know, I will be taking Long Service Leave in Term Two. While I will miss the day-to-day joys and challenges of school life, as I genuinely believe that every interaction matters, I leave knowing the team is in excellent hands. I wish all students, families and staff a restful break and a rewarding and fulfilling Term Two.

I look forward to returning to Semester Two with fresh eyes and renewed energy.

Regards,

Mr Brendan McGrath

Head of Middle School (Year 7 to Year 9)
