Reflecting on a Wonderful Term at Toorak Primary
Dear Parents and Carers,
As the term comes to an end, I take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredibly successful and fulfilling 10 weeks of learning, growth, and community connection at Toorak Primary School. It has certainly been a busy and rewarding term, and it’s been a pleasure to walk through our classrooms, see our amazing students and dedicated staff uphold our school values and commit themselves to excellence in learning.
Throughout the term, our students have been engaged in a diverse range of activities, enriching both their education and their sense of belonging within our school community. From incursions focused on teamwork and science, Bully Zero workshops, and Respectful Relationships lessons, to the Grade 6 Camp in Marysville, our students have embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. We also celebrated diversity on Harmony Day, held the exciting Easter raffle, and saw our Year 5 and 6 students showcase their skills at the Tee Ball Gala Day. Additionally, the launch of our new school website, the welcome picnic, and events like Pizza and Paper Planes helped bring our community even closer together.
A major milestone this term was the installation of our new playground, a project made possible by years of community fundraising and invaluable student input through the Junior School Council. Our students can’t wait to enjoy the fantastic new features, and we look forward to its official opening soon!
We also congratulate our 2025 Foundation students (and parents!) on completing their very first term of primary school—what an achievement! A big thank you to our parents and carers for their ongoing support in making this transition smooth and positive.
Finally, as we head into the last few days of term, we look forward to Casual Clothes Day on Friday, supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal—a wonderful way to give back to the community.
To all our students, staff, and families—thank you for making this term so memorable. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to our school values shine through every day, and I couldn’t be prouder of the way our students represent Toorak Primary School.

Last week we held our first meeting with our new school council, and I am pleased to announce our school council office bearers for 2025 are:

If there are others in the community who would like to join one our subcommittees e.g. Building and Grounds, Events, Marketing and Fundraising (EMF), Policy, Teaching and Learning and Wellbeing please contact the office.
ANZAC day celebrations
For next term I invite the community to attend our annual ANZAC day ceremony which will be held on Thursday 24th April at 9:15 am. We take pride in this ceremony, showing our respect to the past and present ANZACs. ANZAC badges are currently available to purchase from the office.
Exciting News – Our New Playground is Ready!
We are thrilled to announce that our new playground is now complete and ready for years of fun and adventure! Today, our Junior School Council, School Captains, and Vice Captains had the exciting opportunity to tour the new space, and their enthusiasm was contagious. The playground has been thoughtfully designed with a variety of engaging elements and features soft fall surfacing to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all students.
To mark this special occasion, we will be holding an Official Playground Opening Event on Wednesday, April 23rd, at 3:15 PM. We warmly invite past and present parents, students, and community members to join us in celebrating this milestone—a testament to the years of fundraising and dedication that made this incredible addition to our school possible.
We can’t wait to see our students making memories on the playground for years to come. We hope you can join us for this exciting event!
Community Coffee Cart – a time to connect.
Our staff are excited to welcome both new and familiar faces at our Coffee Cart this Friday morning at 8 AM in the schoolyard. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy a freshly brewed coffee from a skilled barista while connecting or reconnecting with fellow parents and members of our school community.
I’m also looking forward to picking up some delicious treats from the Grade 6 Bake Stall, with all proceeds going towards supporting their graduation celebrations. A donation for coffee is greatly appreciated, and EFTPOS will be available. We hope to see you there!
Wrapping Up a Wonderful Term – Thank You!
As we come to the end of another fantastic term, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your support, dedication, and partnership in your child’s learning journey. Your involvement and encouragement play a vital role in shaping our students' success, and we truly appreciate all that you do.
With our wonderful school community and the commitment of our dedicated staff, I do not doubt that the remainder of the year will bring even more growth, achievements, and memorable experiences for our students.
I hope you all enjoy a well-deserved break—may it be filled with rest, laughter, and special moments with your children. I look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting and rewarding term ahead!
Kind regards
