Year 11 Japanese students visit to the Consulate General of Japan in Melbourne

Year 11 Japanese students recently had an exciting visit to the Consulate General of Japan in Melbourne to attend an educational seminar to gain insights into student life in Japan.

The seminar covered a variety of informative and engaging topics related to school life in Japan, including some fun quizzes to challenge their knowledge! Meeting Mrs. Shimada, the Consulate General of Japan, and the office staff provided a valuable opportunity for students to understand the role of this Japanese institution and explore potential career paths that involve using Japanese.

After the seminar, the students headed to Dohtonbori to try their hand at making and enjoying okonomiyaki – a delicious Japanese savory pancake that left them feeling very satisfied! They also had a great time interacting with the friendly Japanese-speaking staff at the restaurant.

The day was filled with excitement and enjoyment as students immersed themselves in the use of the Japanese language and delved into learning about Japanese culture. It was truly a memorable and enriching experience for all.
