HEALTH/PE

T4 2023

This Term has been an extremely busy one within the health and PE Curriculum.

In term 4 Mrs Martin has been running Orienteering with the help of Onkaparinga Hills Orienteering Club coaches Colin and Dianne. The students have been developing their map reading and navigational skills whilst locating hidden places around the school.

The program has been extremely successful. The students have enjoyed themselves immensely and most importantly are learning at the speed of light.

This term we have had the absolute pleasure of Jaydyn Coggins, his mum and official Sport stacking judge Rachel and Step Dad as well as official Sport stacking judge Adam running in school Sport stacking clinics for the students of Hackham East. The improvement in the student’s fine motor skills has been outstanding and prevalent in their ever-increasing, or should I say decreasing, best times. Seeing Jaydyn complete the full cycle in under six seconds is truly astonishing! Although Jaydyn has been oversees competing in the Asian World Cup for much of our program, the students have enjoyed receiving highlights from his Mum Rachel and learning that Jaydyn came 2 overall and actually won the Asian worlds stack off!

We are extremely excited to let everyone know that the Australian National Sport Stacking Championships will be held in the Penny Space on Sunday the 8th  and 9th of December.  Many of the students here at Hackham east are incredibly interested in registering into the day’s events, YOUR child could hold an Australian record! So, check out the info below and register before it's too late.

*Parents there is no restrictions on age so get practicing and you too could be an Australian Champion!

Special guest William Orrell will be there. William is the fastest stacker in the world!!!! Completing the cycle in only 4.4 seconds…I cant even see that fast!
